Peacock Bass fishing is good except, on the Rio Negro Barcelos - Sta. Isabel area (click on chart). In 2 ½ days a total of 1288 Peacock
Bass were landed by 28 anglers, 55 of which were in the 10-16 lbs. class, 3 in the 17 - 19 lbs. class, 2 in the 20-22 lbs. class and 1 in the 23 lbs. class.
WATER LEVELS AT OUR AMAZON PEACOCK BASS FISHERIES:
- North & Mid-North: (North Negro tributaries and South Negro
Tributaries) Water levels at the headwaters of the North Negro tributaries which were too low, are slowly rising as of last Friday and fishing is improving drastically.
On the other hand, fishing on the Rio Negro channel itself has dropped in part because of the fish spawning cycle and in part from survival, commercial and even sport fishing pressure.
-
North-East: (Roraima State) The Branco tributaries water levels on River Plate’s exclusive fisheries (Taperá,Xeurini, Shufaris, and Homero ) continue to low, but rising and, in the case of the upper Tapera, even to low for our Fly-In
Floating Cabins.
- Mid-South: (Igoapaçú Indian Reservation) Water levels were perfect mid-October till mid-November and, are now high which is normal this time of the year.
- South: (Marmelos Indian Reservation) Water levels were perfect during July-August and, are now high which is normal for this time of the year.

We are still waiting for IGFA registration of the "ALL
-TACKLE WORLD RECORD" Butterfly Peacock
Bass caught in the Fly
In Floating Cabins III on
the Urubaxi last week.
Peacock
Bass fishing is
fair since water levels are slowly rising in most
Negro Tributaries. In 2 ½ days a total of 1428 Peacock
Bass were landed by 39 anglers, 28 of which
were in the 10-16 lbs. class and 1 in the 17 - 19
lbs. class. Arriving and departing guests were upset
for the lack of float
planes (click on chart).
WATER LEVELS AT OUR AMAZON PEACOCK BASS FISHERIES:
- North & Mid-North: (North Negro tributaries and South Negro
Tributaries) Water levels at the headwaters
of the Negro tributaries continue to be excellent but slowly rising.
From the end of Oct. up to mid Nov. riverboats on the Negro channel had the
best Peacock Bass
fishing for the last
8 years. With rising water levels at the Tributaries, the Negro channel seems
to have the best fishing these last 2 ½ days (click on chart).
-
North-East: (Roraima State) The
Branco tributaries water levels on River Plate’s exclusive
fisheries (Taperá,Xeurini,
Shufaris, and Homero ) continue to be extremely low and, in the case of the upper
Tapera, even to low for our Fly-In
Floating Cabins.
- Mid-South: (Igoapaçú Indian Reservation) Water levels
were perfect mid-October till mid-November and, are now high which is normal
this time of the year.

perfect during July-August and, are now high which is normal for this time
