PEACOCK BASS FISHING REPORTS
February 22nd - February 23rd , 2009 - Mid-Week Fishing Report for 2 days
Although rain continues, fishing with River Plate has been acceptable, specially when considering most other outfitters are catching very few fish, if any. In only 2 days, a total of 1298 fish were landed by 34 anglers: 49 fish were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class, 3 in the 17-19 lbs. class and 1 in the 20-22 lbs. class.
Water levels continue to be fishable at very few of River Plate’s low fishing pressure areas at the remote headwaters in the very upper State of Roraima
Therefore we have suggested all parties to come. Water levels have dropped from 5 to 8 feet over-the-jungle line 5 weeks ago to fishable levels of 1 to 2 feet at the remote headwaters of our fisheries and right next to Rio Branco.
However, guests must know upfront that if it continues not to rain as forecasted by the weather officials fishing will be superb but, substantial rain could jeopardize the good trend. Also the yacht anglers must know they might see commercial fisherman and, that our Fly-In Floating Cabin anglers will see other anglers from our other operations since there are only a few good fisheries with good water levels.
We think the odds are clearly in favor of good fishing so we expect to see every body!

Fishing at our exclusive Homero and Matamata have been good . In only 2 days, a total of 549 fish were landed by 9 anglers: 4 fish were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class.
Water levels at some of River Plate’s low fishing pressure areas at the remote headwaters are now fishable.
Therefore we have suggested all parties to definitely come. Water levels have dropped from 5 to 8 feet over-the-jungle line to fishable levels of 1 to 2 feet at the remote headwaters of our fisheries.
